Welcome to Hope House School which is now a residential setting. I am delighted that you have chosen to look around our website - we are very proud of our school and all that it offers our children and young people from the whole autistic spectrum of disorders.
It seems a long time since I first walked on to our present site. It was derelict and myself and two volunteers literally had to dig a path to the gate through mountains of soil that had been dumped there. It has been a long hard struggle, but I was determined to create a school where people with autism could feel safe and secure, and where we could help to transform their lives.
We have come a long since then! Our totally renovated buildings provide a wonderful low-stimulus learning environment where children can thrive and ultimately fulfil their potential. Our beautiful grounds offer space and a sense of calm that visitors often remark upon and our Animal Unit provides therapy and companionship for children, staff and visitors alike.
We now have twenty eight places for these amazing individuals with approximately fifty who access our Clubs and Befriending service. I finally feel that I have achieved what I set out to do!
I would also like to tell you that my husband and I are now Foster Parents to one of our pupils, which enables us to see just how parents feel when dealing with challenging behaviour. We can truly say "We know how you feel!"
Please enjoy browsing our website and if you would like any further information on placements, job opportunities or anything else, then please do not hesitate to get in touch with me or a member of my team.
