Residential Home

Residential Home

Set in a 1/4 acre site, surrounded by a mini farm, a sensory garden and within our secure school grounds, our Residential Home can be found. Created with the understanding that mental and physical disabilities can be very challenging for Parent’s, Carers or Guardians and that being able to access a secure, peaceful and nurturing environment may provide much needed 24 7 Programme of Learning. The home is open for 42 weeks for children and social care can be provided for them for the other 10 weeks.

Please look through this page to discover more about this incredible facility!

The Residential Home is within the school grounds but is separated from the buildings used for teaching. For our current pupils who may need or want to access the Residential Home this works extremely well as change can be disruptive, however they know the grounds very well and are familiar with using the space. For children who are newly coming onto the site we hope it feels very homely as we have steered away from creating a hotel look and focussed on using decor that makes it feel like a comfortable home. On site residents of the Home can access the fantastic facilities we have within the school grounds, scroll down to discover more about these!

Within the grounds of the Residential Home the residents have access to the finer luxuries in life. A hot tub for example, sunken trampoline as well as a fruit and vegetable patch. As said the residents also have access to the state of the art facilities within the school grounds. These include our sensory room, activity room which includes a Wii, foosball table, air hockey table and a heap of activities the get stuck into! Furthermore we have an onsite gym, sensory garden, adventure play area, a mini farm and the bouncy castle (in warm weather of course!).

Within The Home

The purpose of this house is to provide care to children and young people with a range of mental and physical disabilities. The layout of the home has been created with this mission in mind. On the ground floor their is a large lounge area which has T.V and DVD player for the children to access and enjoy a relaxing and comfortable evening in! Going on there is a downstairs toilet, an open plan kitchen and dining area for the children or young people to socialise over a meal and of course, share the washing up! On the first floor you’ll find three bedrooms, all of ample size and one with two beds inside. All of the rooms have been decorated in neutral tones . In addition there is a shower bathroom.

We must stress that this is a cosy three bedroom home and we have made every effort to ensure that the residents will feel safe and happy here. Please come for a look around if you are interested in viewing. We’ll get the kettle on!
